Video may have killed the radio star, but Facebook live is destroying social media right now!
The numbers don’t lie. Facebook live is getting more views per post than any other free forum right now. Will it be like this forever? Who knows. But right now it’s hot, and I definitely recommend that you ride the wave.
And the best part is, people like the real, raw, unedited feel of the Facebook Live videos. For you that means a whole lot less time and money spent on making professional video. All the benefits with half the hassle. Sign me up!
There’s no doubt, Facebook Live is simple, and powerful. BUT if you don’t want to get lost in the sea of kids dance recitals, soccer games, and pointless rambling while they drive in their car, then you need some strategy. (By the way, for some reason, we seem to love the videos of people in their car, but just don’t ramble.)
Here are 5 ways you can use Facebook Live to grow your business.
- Create How To Videos: Show your friends and followers how to use or interact with your product or service by using how to videos. If you sell a wholefoods cookbook, make a how to video of one of your favorite recipes. If you are a speaking coach, make a how to book your first paid gig video. These videos get shared because we want to save them on our own pages for future reference. And shares of course increase visibility.
- Have clients do product reviews or testimonials: Remember when Chewbacca mom destroyed Facebook? That was a product review! The best one in the history of product reviews, but that’s still what it was. Ask your clients for reviews! Ask them to post them on Facebook live.
Boost Livestream events: We recently hosted Global Wealth Leaders Live in Atlanta. We livestreamed the first 15 minutes of each speaker’s presentation and then invited people to join us on the main page. It gave us a huge boost to our event visibility. It’s a great way to catch people where they are at, and then bring them over to your platform.- Build engagement through live Q and A: Often times prospective clients need to interact with us before making a purchase. Live question and answer sessions give clients a chance to do just that. In a 10-minute live Q and A, you might be able to answer 5 people’s questions. But because the visibility is so friendly right now, you have the potential for hundreds, maybe thousands of people to see you answering those questions. The Q and A forum also draws comments because that is where people will post their questions. Each comment will increase visibility.
- Build relatability: Today’s consumer wants to know that there are real people behind the scenes. They want you to be human. They want you to be relatable. Facebook Live is the perfect platform for each of these things. I recently created a FB Live video where I showed viewers how big my laundry pile was. I had no makeup on. My hair was not styled, and it reached over 1000 people. I got more comments on that post than on the ones where I was talking about something that seemed more important to me. People love relatability! Give them what they are hungry for. Real people that they can relate to!
