grateful amy walker consultingLast night we lit the first fire of the year in our fireplace. And my 5 year old asked if we could gather around the fire and share good thoughts. It was pretty sweet to see the entire family sitting around honestly sharing things they are grateful for. Answers ranged from our home, to Jesus, band, serving as a family, and kissing (that came from the 4 year old not the 14 year old.)

As I listened to all of the little things my family is grateful for, I had a surge of gratitude for you and for my business.  Because my business and my clients enhance everything on my family’s list. Family time is enhanced because we own a business. We have our home because we have a business. We have more time to serve together and worship together because we have a business.

Whenever I talk with someone highly successful I like to ask them, “What are you most grateful for, other than money, that has come into your life because of your business?”

So, now I’m going to share my list with you. And since it is the season to be grateful, I’d love to hear your list as well.

  1. The time I’ve had to raise my kids and be involved in their lives.
  2. The opportunity to live a simple country lifestyle.
  3. Amy walker consultingThe impact and influence I’ve received. I love that I have a voice and can use it to speak up for platforms that matter.
  4. Friends. I have the most amazing friends. They are changing the world. They build me up. The don’t compete or compare, they collaborate and build.
  5. Working with my husband. We have such a stronger sense of purpose and unity than we did. I remember feeling like we were living our own lives that happened to intersect from time to time. We were so busy we hardly ever spent time together. When he first joined me in the business, I felt like I got extra play time with my best friend.
  6. Me. I am grateful for who I am. I love that I can create wins for others and honor myself. I love that I am kind. I love that my natural talents have been strengthened on this journey.
  7. Peace of mind. If everything fell away tomorrow, my skills and thinking would remain. I know I’ll always have the ability to provide for my family, regardless of what is going on around me.
  8. My clients. Some of the most inspiring, amazing people I know are my clients. I’ve watched them stretch and wade through discomfort, fear and overwhelm to come out the other side as Global Leaders. They are creating massive impact.
  9. The excitement of always having a goal. I cannot imagine being bored in a job and waiting until the day ends. Every day flies by for me. Every day is exciting.
  10. Hope. I remember the season of life where I felt hopeless. Life was hard and I didn’t see any other answers. All I could do was pray and have patience. When God placed business in my path, hope returned and a perpetual feeling of optimism.
